TEP’s Small Business program encourages contractors to install selected high-efficiency lighting, HVAC and refrigeration measures for TEP small business customers.

 

CHANGE IN THE CITY'S BUSINESS LICENSE POLICY
Effective January 1, 2008, a new business license policy went into effect
at the City of Tucson.

PURPOSE
... Ensure that the interests of private enterprise are championed, 
not to the detriment of, but to the greatest good of the public.
... Monitor taxes and other regulations imposed on small businesses 
in the City of Tucson and help maintain a healthy environment in 
which businesses can operate.
... Provide a forum for small businesses and bring issues to the 
attention of the City Council.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Revamped ordinance to save the A-Frames (ongoing) 
• Revision of the Peddlers Ordinance
• Instrumental in designing a new business license policy to

simplify and streamline requirements
• Instrumental in having liquor license increase in fees be a gradual
increase overtime 
• Continues to establish a working relationship with the City of 
Tucson Transportation Department regarding roadway issues and
assistance to businesses
• Participates on stakeholders' group working with Development
Services Department to improve and streamline processes and 
procedures
