10-Year Vision: Add new firefighters to ensure emergency call response in four minutes or less 90% of the time, and increase medical response capabilities, fire prevention efforts, and emergency and hazardous materials preparedness.

Fiscal Year 2008 Goals – Progress through June 2008:

Add 45 Firefighters. Alpha 16, the alternative service delivery company at station 16, has been activated with 7 firefighters. A captain and 2 inspectors have been promoted and assigned to Fire Prevention. When station 22 opened in August, Engine 22 and Ladder 22 were activated with 28 firefighters. Seven firefighters were assigned to Medic 22 when the company was placed in service on March 23. Add 2 support staff. An I.T. specialist has been hired for the Information Technology Section and a senior storekeeper has been hired for the Fire supply Section. Open 1 new fire station. Station 22 on South Alvernon Way opened in August 2007.
