Craig Erlandson GIS Analyst Davis-Monthan AFB

The field calculator is simple tool with potential that most users only scratch the surface of. Using the free EasyCalc package, it is possible to populate fields with a wide array of spatial data on an as-needed basis or as part of a workflow.

5. Possible topics or new business for future meetings. What does the group want to talk about?

6. Open Floor

  • Proposed future presentations / demos
  • Co-op Holiday event – December meeting will have refreshments and some time set aside for networking.

  • Standardized Symbology - A question was asked about standardized symbology and if anyone currently has some or if anyone plans to develop some. The general consensus was that no standard has been adopted and most used just use the ESRI symbology and customize as needed.
  • Metadata standards – Discussions about what should be required in any publically available GIS data metadata. ISO, FDGC and homegrown formats were mentioned as possible solutions. Setting up a Metadata committee might be a future endeavor.

Hope to see everyone next Month!!!
