PARKS AND RECREATION LAUNCHES NEW SENIOR BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Tucson Parks and Recreation will launch a new basketball league for seniors with a Hot Shot competition at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 in the Northwest Center gym, 2160 N. 6th Ave.
The free competition for ages 50+ will test basketball shooting skills.
Registration for the Hot Shot event opens at 9:30 a.m., and the event will be held in two age groups, 50-59 and 60+.
The new Boomers and Beyond 3-on-3 Basketball League begins play Sept. 13 at the same location. There is a $16 per player fee, and teams must register by the day of the Hot Shot event.
The league will feature men’s and coed teams. For teams needing players, a free agent list is available.
