CITY TO HONOR AGENCY'S ADOPT-A-PARK EFFORTS APRIL 5
The Adopt-a-Park efforts of Wingspan-Senior Pride will be honored by City of Tucson officials at a 9 a.m. ceremony Thursday, April 5 at Iron Horse Park, 75 N. 1 st Ave.
The agency performs regular clean-ups, provides condition reports and alerts
officials of emergency needs at the park, which covers five acres and features a playground, ramada and picnic spaces. The park, located at the north end of the Rattlesnake Bridge , is open 6 a.m-10:30 p.m.
Participating in the ceremony will be Pat Woelke, senior outreach specialist for Wingspan; Monique Martin, aide to Ward 6 Council Member Nina Trasoff; Ron Burton, Tucson Parks and Recreation Northwest District superintendent; and B. J. Cordova, Tucson Clean & Beautiful director of development and community outreach.
The Adopt-A-Park program provides community service opportunities to unite the public and private sectors in making Tucson a cleaner and safer place to live. More than 100 community groups are currently active in the program.
