Reorganization Notice
The Urban Planning and Design Department will cease to exist as a separate department as of July 1, 2009. Responsibilities (and associated staff) will be transferred to other existing departments. The following programs/projects will now be located in the Housing and Community Development Department (formerly named the Community Services Department):
- General Plan Update
- Neighborhood Planning
- Oracle Area Revitalization Plan (OARP)
- Historic Preservation
- Demographic & Census Data
- Impact Fee Program Administration
The following programs/projects will now be located in the Planning and Development Services Department (formerly named the Development Services Department):
- Rezoning/Special Exceptions
- Plan Amendments/Planned Area Development (PAD)
- Development Review
- Land Use Code (LUC Simplification Project and Code Amendments)
- Neighborhood Preservation Zone
- Planning Commission Support
- Area and Neighborhood Plans/Plan Amendments
In addition, the Urban Landscape Program has moved to the Office of Community and Sustainable Development. The Annexation Office is now under the purview of the City Manager’s Office and is located in the Real Estate Division.
All pertinent information related to these programs and services will continue to be located on this website.
