Thank you for visiting the Recycling Directory online!

The Recycling Directory is now available on the internet, in English and Spanish! Printed copies of the Recycling Directory are also available at Pima County Public Library locations.
Stephen Owens, Director, Arizona Department of Environmental QualityThe Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is pleased to assist Tucson Clean & Beautiful in providing the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle Guide for Tucson and Pima County. This recycling guide has been developed as an easy reference to help you find local recyclers in your community and increase participation in recycling and waste reduction.

Thank you for your commitment to protecting and enhancing Arizona’s environment.

Sincerely,
Stephen A. Owens, Director, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality
Richard Elías, Chairman, Pima County Board of SupervisorsThe Pima County Board of Supervisors congratulates Tucson Clean & Beautiful for compiling and printing the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle Directory for Tucson and Pima County. The directory is much needed, serving the community as a valuable tool for ensuring that reusable materials are reused. That reduces the amount of materials we send as “waste” to landfills – expensive to develop and operate, and prone to cause soil, water and air pollution.

Richard Elías, Chairman, Pima County Board of Supervisors
Robert Walkup, Mayor, City of TucsonThe Tucson Recycling Directory is an important reference tool for our citizens. Tucson is committed to reducing, reusing, recycling, and buying recycled goods because it's good for our environment and it's good for business.

The City of Tucson and Tucson Clean & Beautiful have demonstrated fine leadership in this area. Our community waste reduction programs have helped divert recyclable and reusable discards from our landfills. And our community is more sustainable--and much better--for this work.

Thank you for using this directory and for helping to make Tucson's quality of life the highest in the nation.

Sincerely,
Mayor Robert E. Walkup, City of Tucson
Ursula Kramer, Director, Pima County Department of Environmental QualityIn a time when landfills are expensive to run and it is difficult to site new ones, our current landfills need to last as long as possible. We can do that by reducing the amount of waste we create. When you avoid making garbage in the first place, you don't have to worry about disposing of waste or recycling it later. Changing our habits is an important step since Arizonans produce over 5 pounds of waste per person each day. Reducing unwanted mail at home, reusing printer and copier paper at the office, and packing a “no-waste lunch” with reusable containers to school or work are a few of many steps we can each take to lessen our impact on the environment and save precious natural resources.

Ursula Kramer, Director, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality
Andrew H. QuigleyDirector, City of Tucson Environmental ServicesTucson is making great strides as a community to divert waste from the landfill through recycling and other efforts. As we work to expand opportunities for residents to divert waste, TCB's bilingual directory is a valuable resource for Tucsonans who want to "reduce, reuse and recycle". For more than 20 years, Tucson Clean & Beautiful has been a strong advocate in this vital environmental effort and the City of Tucson Environmental Services Department is proud to partner with TCb. I hope residents and businesses will use the directory and work with us to promote conservation and recycling efforts in Tucson.

Andrew H. Quigley, Director, City of Tucson Environmental Services Department

"One person's trash is another person's treasure"... This directory provides excellent resources for finding other uses for things we no longer need. I encourage all of our citizens and businesses to use this directory and support the businesses listed. Each of us generates approximately 5 lbs. of solid waste per day. How much are you recycling? Do your part - start today to ReTHINKit!"

Sally Gestautas, President, Tucson Clean & Beautiful

Joan Lionetti, Executive Director, Tucson Clean & BeautifulAlthough local residential waste diversion has increased to 22%, there is still considerable opportunity to increase recyclable material recovery to at least 30% of the residential waste stream. In Pima County, the private haulers need to be more aggressive in providing sustainable recycling services to residential and commercial customers. Any increase in recycling results in a significant increase in the life cycle of Los Reales Landfill. Let’s really get proactive recycling collection throughout the metropolitan area. A new goal of 35% waste diversion in residential and commercial in 5 years! WE CAN DO IT!

Joan Lionetti, Executive Director, Tucson Clean & Beautiful
