Composting is the oldest form of recycling, creating clean odor-free soil amendment for plants & trees when finished properly. Almost anything that was once a plant can be composted (yard waste, tea bags, coffee grounds, vegetables, fruit, and more). Compost is a great alternative to commercial fertilizer, and helps reduce the amount of organic waste in our landfills.

Many people have one or more sets of eyeglasses no longer in use collecting dust somewhere that can and will be gladly reused. Please contact the following organizations for information on donating eyeglasses for further reuse.

Accepts donations of used eyeglasses.

(*) Lions Club Vision Program
Donation bins for used eyeglasses available at Lenscrafters locations, as well as Wal-Mart Vision Centers and through local Lions Club branches. The Green Valley Lions Recycling Center, 600 N. La Canada Dr. in Green Valley (near library) also accepts eyeglasses along with many other recyclable or reusable items. Site open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday. For more information please contact program manager (Joel Keyte) at 400-3933.
