The Tucson Water Voluntary Ambassador Neighborhood Water Demonstration Program
Water For The Future Of Our Community
Tucson Water has completed the delivery of a blend of recharged Colorado River water and groundwater to each of four different volunteer neighborhoods. This project has demonstrated that our customers can successfully use this blend of water in their homes and businesses. Adding Colorado River water to our available water resources will allow us to shut off groundwater wells in Tucson that are threatening our environment by overpumping from our water table.
The Ambassador Neighborhoods Program was in effect from June of 1999 through September of 2000 as Tucson Water introduced this blended water into each of the volunteer neighborhoods, one after another, for 90 days each.
